Blazin Ravenz Meeting Minutes:
Short Term Goal: Further our reach in the community by purchasing a team van & Expand our focus towards the education of our athletes.
Awards: Need parents help ensuring kids get medals prior to parents leaving the meets. If a parent must leave please make sure you have made an agreement with a coach to get the award.
Relays: Need to determine all athletes who plan on continuing for the remainder of season so we can make necessary adjustments. Parents please let Head Coaches at each site know your intentions.
Practice Time Change – For the remainder of the season track practice will start at 6:15pm for athletes in Clearwater. Please arrive on time as we will be looking to get in and out of practice on time.
Team Attire – Attire has been designed. Flyers will be provided to parents with costs of each item. We will add the items to our website for purchase. Once we receive your order we will place the orders with the vendor at end of each month. Parents will be able to order anytime up to season start in March 2018, but please keep in mind that items take 4-6 weeks to produce and deliver.
City of Clearwater Rec Cards: for athletes in Clearwater are due for everyone who has not turned them in to the Registrar. Please speak with Registrar if you have not done so or have any questions.
Required Documentation – Original birth certificate or certified copy will be required for all AAU Santioned meets listed below for the remainder of the season. Team does not need the original, but we are asking for every parent to have it handy shall it be needed.
Team Recommendation for 4-6 year old athletes – The team will leave it up to the parent to make the decision if they want their child to participate at the District and Regional Qualifier track meets. The team recommends that the younger athletes not participate in an effort to help save money, but look to participate at the additional track meet (Running for Christ) and the AAU National Primary Championship, which is based on each age group (5,6,7,8). We would like to have all our athletes 8 & under to participate at the AAU National Primary Championship.
Upcoming Track Meets:
District meet – June 3rd – Top 16 in runs and relays qualify for the state meet. Fee $20 – Due for ——————–no later than 5/30. *AAU cards required.
Running for Christ – Tampa, Fl. – Meet day June 10th – $15 due no later than June 7, 2017.
Regional Qualifier (State) meet – Looking to change location to Lake Minneola High School, meet that’s closer and around the Orlando, FL area. Team Activities will be outlined and distributed to parents. Fee $25 due no later than 6/20…. Meet days June 22nd – 25th *AAU cards required.
*TBD – Evolution Speed T&F Open – Winter Park, FL. – Meet day July 1st – $15 due no later than June 29, 2017
AAU National Primary Championship – July 7-8th. $40 – Weekend Track meet for 5,6,7,8 year old athletes at ESPN Wide World of Sports. *AAU cards required
AAU Club Championship – July 9-15th. $40 – week long track meet at ESPN Wide World of Sports. *AAU cards required
